Tweed and Gold Coast Ibis Management Coordination Group
The Ibis Management Coordination Group (IMCG) was developed in early 1996 to provide an integrated approach to facilitate research and management of the regional Australian White Ibis population. It has successfully drawn together various local governments, private sectors and community groups to coordinate ibis management with the resources available. It is a template for solving wildlife management problems around Australia and is now one of the longest running and most successful programs of its kind in the world.
Ecosure Pty Ltd has successfully organised the IMCG meetings on the Gold/Tweed Coast for 13 years and is currently managing the Australian White Ibis Management Program's throughout the region. This experience in ibis management, both in stakeholder liaison and field work, will allow Ecosure to effectively drive sub groups of the IMCG in other regions.

How to solve ibis problems brochure
The Australian White Ibis (Threskiornis molucca) is a native Australian species, whose natural inland habitat has been decimated through drought and diminished river flows. Ibis have readily adapted to the urban environment where rapid population growth has impacted local flora and fauna, water quality, aircraft operations and potentially they pose a public health risk.
The focus of this conference was to develop a coordinated approach to the management of Ibis to reduce these impacts, while ensuring the long term survival of the species.
The conference updated council officers, landfill operators, airport operators and other land managers on practical management solutions and research for the conservation of ibis.
The conference was carbon audited by ecosure and was classified carbon neutral by GreenPower. learn more.<br />
